The Beatles Anthology 30th Anniversary (Audio: Nov. 21st & Doc: Nov. 26th)

Wow....all the vocals in Free as a Bird / the clarity of the instruments (the underlying synth too); it feels like I'm hearing this for the first time just like I did 30 freaking years ago......John and Paul are now at equal depths within the song; up-front depth!
Re: FAAB
I wasn’t quite as blown away! The vocals are a bit clearer and George’s noodling is more up-front. But overall, nothing much to write home about.

Really, it’s testament to what they were able to achieve in the ‘90s (as nobodytoldme refers to). 30 years on with all the supposed advanced technology, and little more could be achieved.

It's a fine line of using technology to enhance or to radically change it up (one may argue what was done with the '15 version of Real Love). I think this third iteration sets out to what could not be done even ten years ago; bring John out of that ghostly under current. I've listened carefully about 3 or 4 times (in 90 second increments) and what I'm hearing in my headphones is absolute clarity of the mix. It is a bit jarring to have John so dry in the mix but that's the point after all these years.

I hate to break it to you but this isn’t the new mix 🥲
It appears some people can't hear it, others can. Possibly a region thing. What I'm hearing is 100% the new mix. Lead vocals dry and out of sync (even clashing with the harmonies), Lennon's piano eliminated, the alternative Harrison bridge vocal as used in the 2015 mix, different outro, etc.

Are you certain this isn’t the 2015 mix?

Yeah, it's definitely the new mix for me.

100% certain, the out-of-sync lead vocals - I'm not sure I mentioned it before? lol - are a dead giveaway. The drum sound is totally different (and far superior to me). The percussion was non-existent on the original mix, audible on the 2015 mix, here high up in the mix. The altogether mix is much brighter, the acoustic guitars are shining through. The rockabilly electric guitar licks by George Harrison (in the style as heard on 'Now and Then') are even higher up in the mix than the 2015 mix. As said, they took away Lennon's own instrument. As said, a different outro, "turned out nice again" and then very faintly the original (1995) reversed bit. And much more differences like that. And of course no applause at the end (since the 2015 mix is a Blu-ray rip).

There are some reels from as early as last year using that audio, I don’t think it would get leaked that early
Whether it was intentional or not, all aboard the hype train! 'In Spite Of All Danger' and 'That'll Be The Day' are demixed and denoised and remixed and are sounding incredible. The Ed Sullivan songs are rebalanced as well and has some stereo depth. Etc.
