The Beatles Anthology 30th Anniversary (Audio: Nov. 21st & Doc: Nov. 26th)

I hope they Include Woman is the N of the World ultimate mix in Anthology4!!

:ROFLMAO:

Now seriously, it will be great to hear Free as a bird and Real Love with today's technology!

There was discussion of some outtakes being on Anthology 4 that were on previous SDE sets. I believe mainly from Pepper50 and WA50; as the studio outtakes never were on vinyl editions because they were not mirrored counterparts to the compact disc super deluxe releases.

I wonder if the lack of ‘Carnival of Light’ will cause as much furore as “the other song”.
Why would it? Apples and oranges. Carnival is just a collage of sounds, probably in the vein of Revolution 9 and has never been released. The other one was the lead single of the album and an important song in the MSG concerts, removed because some people who has no clue the song exists might spend 250 USD by accident in a huge niche box set and have a heart attack when discovering that song or get so offended they would burn Beatles records like in Alabama 1966.

Not really interested in this release, especially if 4 is just more songs we’ve heard before. I don’t really see the point of spending all this time remixing songs that sound fine (apart from FAAB and RL, as well as some stuff from Anthology 1).

What I am hoping for, however, is a remastered version of the documentary - I’d be very happy then, even if it’s a rudimentary remaster and it is streaming only. I just think it’s something so important that should be able to be easily accessible to new Beatles fans. Obviously I’d be even happier if there was any chance of a Anthology documentary that showed more of the hours and hours of interviews that were cut down to stop the Threetles from arguing over who remembered what correctly.

Hard to tell. The people clamoring for Carnival now would just complain about what a turd it was once it was released... just like most of the people really throwing a tantrum about Woman Is The...'s exclusion would be crying fowl if it had been included. Some people hate the thought of being happy or satisfied.
That said, I wish both songs were included on their respective sets. Heart not broken either way. I'll graciously accept the new stuff!

All wonderful and valid (concern) points. For the doc; I can't help not to forget PJ said there are 14 hours of the reunion studio sessions; I'd love to get a 1-2hr new episode showcasing that.

I'd be curious how much they pull from the "Director's Cut" (the early cut that had a lot more interviews than the final version). I watch that set more often than the official 5 disc dvd set from 2003.

Based on my memory - the ABC broadcast had bits that never made it to VHS nor DVD; so that may fill in a little more of the episode segment.

I think it will be a 8-10 (90min) episodes on D+ (dropping Thanksgiving Weekend)

Absolutely. I don’t want to be negative (it makes me happy to see people happy with this release) so just stating that the albums probably won’t be something I’d purchase or stream unless the remixes are noted as being incredible :)

As for all the reunion sessions, and even just the separate interviews done during the nineties, I’d love as much of it as possible! That, to me, is the real heart of the Anthology project - getting to see George and Paul actually working together on camera after so many allegations that they were never friends and other such nonsense. It would be great to see a new physical release of the documentary, but even just on Disney+ would be fine by me.

Having the anthology documentary remastered and on streaming would be incredible.

Who on earth would complain about a song being included in a set that highlights an album and concerts where that song was originally included and was a major part of both -eg. lead and only single released from the album? That doesn't make any sense.

Preaching to the choir here, but if there wasn’t going to be complaints about it being included, it would have actually been included. There was going to be whining whichever decision they made.
