šŸ”“ POWER THE PEOPLE - Deluxe Box Set - Unboxing Video

I understand ā€œWoman Isā€¦ā€¦ā€ not being included, and I can appreciate what a tough decision it must have been but why is Sisters O Sisters not included from either afternoon or evening show?
For the balance of John/Yoko songs in the shows overall. There are several other live (and studio) performances of 'Sisters, O Sisters' in the box set that are better quality.

I'm sure its not perfect, but here's my attempt to figure out the new track-list and what's new
All the information on the release is here.

Nothing is 'old'. Nothing is a from a soundboard recording or bootleg.

Everything has been re-transferred from the original multitracks and/or first-generation tape recordings and completely remixed, restored, re-engineered and re-imagined. It took about six years work of engineering and mixing to bring this all to you and the whole team put all our hearts and a great deal of thought and love into it to make sound as phenomenal as possible - in High-Definition Stereo, HD 5.1 and Dolby Atmos.

There’s one thing Sean always says and it’s ā€œI don’t like saying what my father would or wouldn’t be doing/saying nowadays. It’s a losing gameā€ so don’t think he is trying to envision what John would be doing about the song ā€œWoman is the ā€¦ā€ in any ways as if he was still with us today, Sean is really respectful not to do that. What he and his team did is a well advised and thoughtful decision. Black people expressed themselves and were heard. If you’re searching for a reason, that should be reason enough! The message of the song is about women and I can guarantee that we are not mad about that decision, I’m certainly not feeling erased in any sense. We, women, have been looked down on, disrespected and killed throughout history - as the song itself makes it clear - and that’s one of the many reasons why we stand with black women, men and children’s rights (and honestly most of the people I’ve seen angry about the decision of not re-releasing the song are men). This is another step towards the empathic world John&Yoko dreamed about, even if that means rethinking some of their own paths. So, actually, congratulations John Lennon & Yoko Ono Estate for making what must have been a complicated but really important decision šŸ‘šŸ»šŸ‘šŸ» You already know how much I appreciate and respect you guys and now even more!

The original Sometime in New York City album is still available to buy, download, stream and listen to. We haven't deleted it or taken it down from streaming.
This has been my ethos of understanding that this new release is not anything other than a different presentation separate from the original artistic statement of STiNYC. The integrity of the original album remains intact. It's easy from the outside to judge when one is not apart of a business or organization with new requirements or adjusted parameters. What we did not get in 2022 has blossomed 3-4 fold into something greater. This new anthology of '69, '71, & '72 - is THE greatest release in the JL posthumous release era; a treasure trove!

It's just a terminology thing, I'm using soundboard and remix here just to differentiate what was previously only on audience recordings, and what is a remix of a previously released mix, sorry if the word soundboard isn't the most accurate there. As for the word "OLD", I'm only using it to mean that it's something that's already public, tho I'm sure pretty much everything on the new set will be a good upgrade.

I'm really excited for the set! I'm just trying to sort through what the material is!

What about the Zappa tracks? New transfer and mix as well? We already got a new one 3 years ago in The Mothers 1971 box set.
Yes - all new mixes, Produced by Sean and Mixed and Engineered by Paul Hicks and Sam Gannon in HD Stereo, 5.1 and Dolby Atmos. The correct credits for Frank's track 'King Kong' (that was played during the John & Yoko/FZ & Mothers set) have been sorted out with Ahmed Zappa and The Zappa Estate. Everyone's very pleased with the outcome.

Does anyone know the significance of this button? šŸ‘€

Here's the tambourine I have from the show. They are the names of a chain of New York restaurants, bars and cafƩs. I think Friday's may have become TGI Fridays. I"m guessing that their advertising/sponsorship on the tambourines probably covered the cost of them - they were given out to the audience so all the audience members could become part of 'The Plastic Ono Band' and join in with performing in the show.

I do have one question, will the 5.1 and atmos audio represent the multitracks well? mostly like rockbnad .moggs? if so, that's a really good thing, if not, well, atleast i can seperate the channels with ai instrument separation
