It's cool hearing the remix of Sunday Bloody Sunday in a startling sonic fidelity upgrade. It shows how low-fi those original mixes were.
The sax intro wasn't mixed out. Instead, it sounds like they snipped out roughly 10 seconds of audio in a digital workstation to nuke the sax intro entirely!
The original sax intro was badass. Without the sax intro, the new song intro doesn't hit as hard and the track loses some of its edge.
I can appreciate that Sean doesn't like saxophones. But hey, the sax thing happened, and John liked it.
It's silly to edit original musicians out of the master take because of a subjective distaste for saxophones.
