🍉 SEAN ONO LENNON - AMA - ASK ME ANYTHING - Here - on Thursday 19 September - Midday ET / 9am PT / 5pm UK / 1am Tokyo

Hello Citizens of Nutopia! Welcome everyone. There seem to be a lot of questions already. I've never tried anything like this so please be patient. Also not sure I'll be able to answer everything. I'll do my best. Okay here we go...
What was you dad like? Did he play a lot of music around the house? Also I love your music!!

Sean, are there any future plans for the next few years involving your parents' art? What you've done so far with Mind Games is incredible.
Thank you. Yes we do have plans, but we're still focused on Mind Games this year. We still have more surprises to come. I don't like to talk about unfinished things but I'll say that I plan to continue working hard and doing the best job I can for my parents' work.

Sean, great job on keeping the legacies going. It may be a sensitive question, but assuming there is a Walls & Bridges box (fingers crossed), how will May's involvement be handled, since it was an album done while your parents were apart? Really not trying to start trouble, just an honest question because I really enjoy that album. Much appreciated.
Not something I really have thought about to be honest. I mean, it's no secret they were having an 'affair' or whatever you want to call it. Best songs by far are sitll about mom.

Hi Sean 👋

Just a massive thankyou for everything you do as an artist and a creator, very much looking forward to seeing what you have in store for the rest of 2024 and beyond ☺️🙏
Peace & Love

What do you think of this recording looking back. I'm curious how it came about! Was it more Yoko's idea or did it come about naturally from both of you
Well it wasn't my idea. It was for a best-of Yoko tribute album called Every Man Has A Woman Who Loves Him. Honestly it was so embarrassing for me as a kid. I think it gave me some deep trauma actually. Now it seems sweet though. Mostly I remember making the video w my best friend Max LeRoy who died. I miss him so much. We had fun making the video together. But it sort of tortured me through my youth.

Hey Sean ,
Thanks for everything you do (Keeping your Father’s legacy going in such an expert manner and for your music)
I have two questions.:

1- Will we ever see the Sometime In NYC ultimate edition? The previous albums released have been superb!

2- I went to see your mom on her Starpeace tour. It was a great show. Afterwards I wrote to her to tell her how much I enjoyed the show. In response she sent me a postcard and a picture that she personally autographed. I would love for you to autograph it as well if possible.

Thank you

Glad you liked the show. I'm not big on autographs tbh. Sometime didn't get skipped exactly. We're just working it in a different way. We'll try our best to get to everything in a timely manner.

Sean, when your mum did the Starpeace tour back in 1986 (I was at her London show) there was talk of a documentary or film of the tour being released which of course never happened. Can you recall if it actually was filmed and if so does the footage survive?
We do have some recordings but I haven't looked at the footage. I'll see if I can find it. Good idea.

Hello Sean,

I have a question for you: if you could only listen to 4 albums, each being by a different musician, which albums would you choose?

Have a great day.

What is the most challenging aspect of keeping the fans connected and interacting with new releases/announcements?
Well you have been very helpful so thank you. Many of the 'influencers' here have done a great job promoting and keeping awareness. Grateful for that. But the hard part I'd say is that we are competing with so many distractions online, and new artists and things happening constantly. Getting people's attention for catalogue work can be a challenge. Especially younger and newer fans. But the challenge is what makes it fun. If it were easy, it'd be boring work I think.

But this message board is part of it. We want to create a family of fans who can help keep the music and message out there in the world for future generations to enjoy.
