Lol yes, my own taste in music revealing itself and evolving has surprised me.I never thought I’d say the same
Things and artists that I never thought I would enjoy (when I was younger..) have since become some of my favorites.
Some of it being bc I wanted to hear for myself what the appeal and attraction was to some of the artists I already enjoyed, and their favorites and inspirations. It has expanded my musical pallette.
I've got my two favorite Johnnys (Lennon and Cash) posters hanging right next to each other in my room. A little bit country and a little bit Rock and Roll!
Idk how far you may have dived into the Cash catalog, but there are some I could recommend to give a listen.

I will never forget seeing Ringo doing Act Naturally on the Ed Sullivan show in the 60s.
Later found out it was a country western song by Buck Owens.
Later, it was an easy tune our beginners garage band could play that our parents & their crowd could appreciate.

One of those songs there is no bad version of - just an incredible work. Brilliant luminaries they both are, its writer and most successful interpreter - each arguably among the finest entertainers/creatives the UK has ever produced! (And the video has a neat cameo from a familiar face to everyone here...!)
