What are you listening to?

Revisiting this whole album again. It's been a while since I listened to it last, and with a bit more life experiences and growth within me, I felt the need to give this one a listen again.

What an absolute gem this entire album is and how fortunate it was that many of these tracks didn't become just part of The Beatles catalog.

First track, side A
"I'd Have You Anytime"

The new Hives album, The Hives Forever Forever The Hives has released today and I've just finished listening to it. It's a good album and I'd recommend it if you've heard the Hives before - if you haven't, I think the Death of Randy Fitzsimmons is the best place to start. :)

Over the last few days, I've been listening to these two CDs, released in 2004 and 2006, over and over again... Hendrix's HEAR MY MUSIC and BURNING DESIRE, instrumental jam sessions recorded mainly in early and late 1969 in various recording studios. Some of the best posthumous releases by Jimi Hendrix. hear my burning hendrix cd..JPG

Along with my pretty much constant Beatles/solo Beatles listening, I am a big fan of Garbage. Their latest album, "Let All That We Imagine
Be The Light" is a must - simply fantastic. These guys have been around for over 30 years and still rocking their asses off! And if you like a bit of political commentary sprinkled in your rock'n'roll (I do - thanks, John & Yoko!), this band is spot on!

We know for sure that Duke was heavily influenced by The Beatles as a teenager in the 60s.
His first band was called The British.

Their posters for high school dances announced "The 🇬🇧 British 🇬🇧 Are Coming!" à la Paul Revere's legendary midnight ride during the American Revolution.

Wiki:
Duke Erikson was born in Lyons, a small rural community in Nebraska.
His first musical instrument was piano, his second was guitar.

At the age of 16 he joined his first band, The British, which was inspired by his passion for the British beat movement.
Erikson operated the light show for The British which was constructed out of a cigar box and door hangers.
"I ran that with my left hand while I played Farfisa organ with my right.."
