The Beatles Anthology 30th Anniversary (Audio: Nov. 21st & Doc: Nov. 26th)

Hello fans - let's take a trip back to 1995 in the A-Beatle-C world of yester-year.

There has been some rumblings of an impeding Beatles Anthology Documentary 30th Anniversary upgrade as well as a remixed/re-imaged audio set.

Let's take a Magical Mystery Tour and see where it leads us and if we come to our destination in November of this year....



My experience: 11 years old, a blank vhs tape in hand at the pulse of the VCR (to pause out all the commercials). The Sunday before Thanksgiving (ABC broadcast part 1), the day before Thanksgiving (ABC broadcast part 2), and on Thanksgiving (ABC part 3). Bare witnessing the debut of Free As a Bird on day 1 and Real Love on day 2 - was a magical experience.

The #4 intrigues me. I get it...4 band members...ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR!! (I Saw Her Standing There)....I anticipate an Anthology 4 (2 cd / 3LP) add-on to the 9LP set of Anthology 1, 2, and 3.

Anthology 4 ideas:

1. Now And Then (instrumental or early mix)
2. Christmas Time (Is Here Again) - single mix or full length mix
3. I Saw Her Standing There (take 1) - or any of the various takes during those sessions
4. This Boy (Takes 12 & 13) - or any of the various takes during those sessions
5. Here, There and Everywhere - a previously different take from the RL single
6. Something (take 37 - extended)
7. Carnival of Light (rumored NOT to be included once again..but maybe one day this century...)
8. All Too Much (full length)
9. Revolution 1 (Take 20)
10.....and away we go.............Perhaps some of the 1963 Bootleg Recording domain dump from end of 2013.

and of course Free as a Bird (2025 mix) and Real Love (2025 mix) on their respective original Anthology albums.

Rumor has it - the 9LPs (Anthology 1,2, and 3) will stay as is for the tracks and will be remixed/upgraded (a la BBC vol. 1) where it deemed necessary. Anthology 4 to include some previously release SDE bonus tracks on this collection along with new tracks.
 
The pictures of the CD and LP sets are already floating around...! It looks so cool, loving the slipcase for the four sets! I'm not sure it would be right to share them here, but they can be found... looks like November 21st is the street date!

At this rate of what has been dropping; tonight? But honestly - most likely officially Thursday. Or maybe the cat is so far out of the bag; tomorrow?

It's going to be interesting on the 25-30 extra songs...from 1960-1970 for Anthology 4.
