Walmart canceled my order today due to "inventory issue."
I won't be discouraged, same thing happened in August with Talking Heads box set.
After a few weeks it came back into stock, got it at the discount.
Many reports of folks who took delivery this week at the low price, so it wasn't a hoax.
Just a random spin on the Karmic Wheel.

walmart canceled my order as well, so I wound up paying the Amazon price. It would have been awesome to save 145 bucks, but these Lennon sets are day one orders for me so one way or the other I was buying this

Good news for everyone who ordered from Walmart and got the free "album" message.
It is definitely the full box set & most are in transit or delivered already!

Some of the good folks at the Hoffman forum figured out that signing up for a Fed Ex account to track future deliveries has good news in it for most everyone.
Including me, after setting up a profile and logging in this morning.
My six-pound box has moved from Kentucky to Kansas City with expected delivery tomorrow!
No charges on my card.
This righteous generosity from the capitalist Walton corporation and / or the Lennon estate deserves sincere thanks & praise!

Both this discovery and the fact that ‘It’s Real’ contains a sung section, and can be dated very specifically to 10 December 1971 in Michigan rather than the “late ’70s Dakota” period, were the biggest revelations of this box set for me personally.CD9 - Track 24 - Gone From This Place
I mean how.....what.....where.....is it the same Gone From This Place as John ran through in some of the 1980 demos?
One track has blown my mind
In hindsight, the fidelity, the sound of the typewriter and Yoko Ono in the background were a dead giveaway. Now I wonder why it was faded out and officially misdated for all those years. Did it end up on a 1979 cassette compilation Lennon put together himself? The new transfer sounds like a much higher-generation copy than the source used for the 1998 release (and later 'Acoustic' release).
Coming back to ‘Gone From This Place’, that may well have been the first song he would have recorded next for a new solo project. We now know he kept returning to it throughout the 1970s, and even started strumming it between takes during the Double Fantasy sessions.
Another song he revisited several times in different forms was ‘Sally & Billy’, which may in fact be older than we know now. On a mid-1970 uncirculating demo tape, Yoko Ono suggests to Lennon that he should tape it, referring to it as if it were already a fully fledged song from way before. And Lennon actually replies: “never sorta liked that one.”
