Since my deep rabbit hole dive into the Lennon discography in 1997/1998 (just before of the John Lennon Anthology; one of my favorite early box sets I got day of at Best Buy) - this camp has always done it right and with great transparency.
The 2000-2004 remix campaign were a sonic revelation. The original mixes were nice to get in the no-noise fidelity in 2010 back on cd along with the stripped Double Fantasy set. The 2018 Imagine deluxe edition rose the bar for a Beatle-related album re-evaluation legacy reissue. The blu-ray reissue of Gimme Some Truth & the new Above Us Only Sky doc was a great send off for that album.
POB 50 (in 2021) rose above expectation of so much material along with the Yoko sessions on blu-ray. The Mind Games 50 deluxe continued the great re-evaluation that took an already great remix in 2002 to another level. And here we are....in 2025 in a crazier world than we could have ever imagined; this is a well timed release to showcase the political activism for peace & love from J & Y. Two days to go....
Excited to see how this era will be handled ! There are so many events and recordings to be covered from late '71 through 1972, and John and Yoko activism that year seem even more relevant today.
I've been wondering if there was enough room for Live Jam or Live Peace In Toronto to be included?
But after waiting 4 years, I'm just happy to finally find out what will be there. I'm sure it will be chock full of goodies.
