As Sean said yesterday, "Working on it."What happened to the Some Time In New York City website?
Still waiting on screening times for NYC, but VERY excited to have this!!
Yes, such a good news.As Sean said yesterday, "Working on it."
Don't know. Maybe they wanted it to match the colour of the sky on the cover? You'd have to ask the RIAA who presented it to John.In the Mind Games book that comes with the normal SDE box set, there is a photo of the framed Gold Record Award given for the Mind Games album on Apple Records. Why does that award have Ringo's custom blue Apple label made for Back Off Boogaloo (which was a full year and half earlier than Mind Games) instead of the normal green Apple that Mind Games was originally released with? Or, was it simply that copy of the award was subjected to prolonged sunlight rays fading the label to blue? I have seen unscrupulous record dealers try to make blue Apple label Back Off Boogaloo singles by fading green Apple label singles in the sunlight. Sometimes it's tough to tell if real or not in those cases.
I know, John also had a real dog named Nigel. I'm curious about why they choose this character.
Ohhh, that's right!! I just never connected the dots that it was a tribute to his friend Nigel. Just as Bernard was the name of the housekeeper Dorothy's husband.View attachment 1306
John's dog was called Sally, seen here with John in the back garden at Mendips in 1947.

For many of his stories in 'The Daily Howl' and poems in 'In His Own Write', John used the names of his friends.
Nigel was John's childhood friend Nigel Wally, who John nicknamed 'Wallogs'.
I confess that I try not to talk about this song. Despite good intentions, the use of the word is still wrong. The song itself is really good anyway. Are Lennon / Ono fans distancing themselves from the song "Woman is the N***** of the World" due to the use of the N word? It's a very good song, with controversial lyrics yes, but it's such a powerful feminist anthem! I recall hearing the uncensored song on FM radio back in the 70's in the U.S., but you'd never hear it on the radio today.
