There are beautiful, complete demos for a lot of songs from the 'Mind Games' album, in some cases even in multiple versions, but unfortunately not for ‘Out The Blue’. The same goes for ‘One Day (At a Time)’. For ‘Only People’ there is at least the short ‘Sally And Billy’ snippet, which later morphed into the verses. And something similar is the case with ‘You Are Here’, which came from an earlier song called ‘Say It Again’, where the bridge and chorus ended up being used.
In other words, there are no circulating demoes for those mentioned songs, but also no documented demos. One could say this is confirmed by none appearing on the 'Mind Games' Ultimate box set. But that does not always tell the full story. There are home demos for ‘How Do You Sleep?’, ‘Hold On’, ‘Isolation’ and ‘Remember’, which were not used in any form on their respective box sets.
What is unfortunate is that it was decided not to release any of those really strong 'Mind Games' demos in full on the box set at all. Still, that at least leaves something to look forward to in the future.
