🎵 What is your favorite Beatles song/s?

Perhaps a slightly strange one, but I keep relistening to Run For Your Life. Safe bet for the most threatening Beatles song! One that John himself wasn't the biggest fan of, but I think it works musically and his vocals match the words he's singing very well.

I don't think I can say a favourite (if I was really pushed, maybe I would say I Want You (She's So Heavy), maybe!) but I can't stop going through the entire White Album recently, so maybe I can try to count that as one big song!

I love all of the songs from the White Album, but some highlights are Happiness is a Warm Gun, Why Don’t We Do It in the Road?, Everybody’s Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey, and Helter Skelter. Another personal favourite is Revolution 9!

When I heard this, and the A-side Paperback Writer, blasting out of transistor radios in my 12th summer, they were so powerful, I understood The Beatles had evolved to another level.

The track Ringo is most proud of for his drumming, the start /stop drum & bass break, one of their best arrangements.
Paul's playing never sounded better on record, using the Rickenbacker 4001, rather than his Hofner he mimes with in the videos.

"To boost the bass signal, Emerick recorded McCartney's amplifier via a loudspeaker, which EMI technical engineer Ken Townsend had reconfigured to serve as a microphone. ...this technique was used only on the two songs on the single..."

I smile every time I see John mouthing the backward vocal at the end in the promo films.
