Lumenate

Hey fellow Nutopians, wanted to make this thread as I was curious to find out if anyone else here has continued to use the Lumenate app since we were kindly introduced to it last year in the Mind Games campaign.

At the time, I found the concept extremely interesting and enjoyed the opportunity to try out those fabulous Meditation Mixes of John, which I made great use of...! Admittedly, after a few weeks or so I didn't manage to keep up, although I found the experience unique and enjoyable enough to keep the app on my phone - where it has stayed ever since.

Earlier this year, during a rough period, I decided to give it a fresh start and found it overwhelmingly transcendent and helpful. For the last eight months or so, I use Lumenate nearly every day, and it has made a significant positive impact on my daily life. Doing a meditation once a day a few hours before going to sleep has dramatically helped me rest and relax at night and focus better during the day.

I'm profoundly grateful that this tie-in to a John reissue campaign (happiness enough, right?) has turned into something that has improved my everyday life greatly. I would love to know if anyone else here has continued with Lumenate as well, and if you'd like to share, what your experiences with it have been. :)

Hi,
I tried the introductory Lumenate app sessions, the ones that were free. Since I have Asperger’s autism I have to pay out of pocket for a psychiatrist to prescribe a minuscule amount of alprazolam a month for my anxiety. Then I have to pay for a psychologist to talk to about my autism. 🙄 Neither take insurance.
But when I tried the Lumenate app I fell in love with it! I love to look at bright, psychedelic colors so that was fun. But I had to hold my phone a certain distance. If the phone was too close I got anxious, if it was too far away it wasn’t as effective.
When I can manage it, I will get the whole Lumenate app and continue my therapy there because I think it has real value. 🙂

Thanks for sharing, Stardust! I'm sorry to hear that you are in that same unfortunate bind so many of us are in; treatments like that are unnecessarily difficult to follow through with and too much of a financial burden. Glad to hear that you have found Lumenate to be helpful and therapeutic for you!

I also sometimes adjust the distance of the phone from my eyes depending on the intensity level that works for me in the moment. Like you, I have used the free version up to this point -- Deep Relaxation and Creative Exploration alone have served me well, but I too would like to invest in the full version and experiment with the various options. I hope the meditations continue to bring you some joy and relief! 😊

Happy to hear Lumenate has helped you too! Thank you for your kindness. 🙂
My goal is to have the app back on my phone for the New Year with a paid subscription. Once I was having a very severe panic attack, due to sensory overload, in the midst of working. I went into my dark bedroom and did a brief session on Lumenate. I actually felt less anxious and was able to finish the last of my work that day. (I live on the property where I work.)
So I expect only more improvement with my anxiety as I continue with more Lumenate sessions.
Good luck to everyone! 🍀
