I was very annoyed when I found out about this, and I am again when I think about it a little longer... But now I'm also like, oh what the heck, I'm not interested anymore.... I have this “special” track three times on vinyl (SOME TIME IN NYC, SHAVED FISH, and the original single) and five times on CD, including a remix from around 2005. Besides, it's available to everyone on the internet, of course.
I think it would have been less controversial if they had included it in the box set, hahahaha! Hardly anyone would have taken offense, and if someone had criticized it, they could have shown them the lyrics, saying, “Read it, then you'll understand.” Unfortunately, the lyrics are still relevant today.
(I hope that the box set will be reissued at some point, WITH the song... Then we'd all have to buy that big, black 'n heavy thing AGAIN... THAT would be a lucrative business idea, wouldn't it?
