I need to comment that it was wonderful to open the Mind Games standalone book and see right in the first pages my absolute favorite picture of John and Yoko taken by Brian Hamill in 72.
And I was very surprised that I chose Brian's book to be one of your next readings before even knowing that Brian's pictures would be in the MG book! Now we can have a kind of extended thematic reading! @LordGoodgod had suggested Brian's book too, and you can see why:

I believe it must be one of the Estate's favorite as well, they clearly wanted to highlight that one! And it was a perfect choice, you started the book gobsmacked by John&Yoko's beauty!I had the same reaction when I first saw it! It was so wonderful to see this image in the book, and I totally agree, it's one of my all-time favorites too! Can't wait to read both Mind Games and Brian's book again, back-to-back!
Hey, Kathy! Don't worry, we'll have plenty of time to discuss the books when they arrive where you live! I totally understand the situation, I live in Brazil so it takes a while for most books to arrive here, I'm currently waiting for Elliot's. Take a book on Amazon, Good Dog Nigel shared a worldwide link to the Mind Games standalone book, it might be available in Australia now... Hoping we can get to discuss them with you soon!So many books, not enough time! I'm curiuos to learn about Elliot's time with the Lennons. Mind Games book hasn't been released in Australia yet (everything is always delayed down here so I'm eagerly awaiting its delivery.
Thank you for sharing your review, Madeline!I hope you will read the incredible new book by my dear friend and fellow author Elliot Mintz, who has been a wonderful supporter of my book about Yoko.
Here is my review of Elliot’s fascinating memoir!

Are you reading the Mind Games standalone book? This would be your third time reading it, right? Did you have new emotions and interpretations when you read it the second time? I usually get myself rethinking a bunch of stuff when I re-read a book with John's quotes, realizing that the context I was living at the time interfered a lot with how I reacted to his most philosophical saying.
Ciao Sara!Un club del libro di John e Yoko?? I libri sono la mia vita! Ci sto!
No need to apologize! I love long replies, I always write long ones too, and yours really made me smile!Exactly! That photo was an amazing way to enter the world within the book!
Indeed, this will be the third time! It's amazing what you say there, I have the exact same experience all the time, but I thought it was really just me who felt that way! Every time I dive into these books, my discoveries and takeaways (or which observations and quotes stand out) are always different based on the experiences and emotions I am going through at the time. It really makes a huge difference, though in some ways, it keeps them endlessly readable beyond their innate brilliance and quality presentations, as that personal aspect ensures it's never exactly the same reading experience twice...!
You're totally right, I also end up doing a lot of self re-evaluation based on what particular quotes say (or how I interpreted or reacted to them at a particular time) and always find it leads to a new and fascinating result. Sometimes I take the words more literally, and other times it seems like the underlying message completely transcends the actual words he (or Yoko) chose.
More often than not, I'll find one or two that really 'spark' in a certain moment, that sort of provide an inner calm or relief. Some that act even like a mantra, when I really need it. It is amazing how sometimes a quote which I've read so many times in the past will suddenly come across like I've never seen it before, make complete sense in a new way and resonate on a deep level!
When I read it the second time, it was pretty soon after the first, so I don't think it really came across in a different way between those two readings. I think in that moment, it was still more being wowed and awed by it and its contents that it just demanded my attention a second time to really process and take it all in! It was illuminating and enlightening on so many levels.
Back in August when I got the book, I was in a pretty positive frame of mind, so the book was just an extra boost of power in that sense...! At the moment, I'm not quite as strong and positively oriented on a mental health level as I was then, so admittedly I'll be really curious to see how differently affected I'll feel from the reading experience this time around!
Sorry for a very lengthy response, haha! - but it is so cool to hear your experiences and how similar they are to mine, which I was sure were pretty singular! It's super affirming to know I'm not alone in this!
