It's too hard to choose, but one of my very favorites is "My Man" - I was immediately entranced by it when I first heard it. The production and the melody are fascinating, it's affectionate but also quite eerie, there's such a mystic quality to it. The vocals are so haunting too, Yoko's sweetness, combining and contrasting with those haunting backing vocals. It's very heartfelt but there's still something about it which feels detached. It very ethereally portrays the era in which it was made, both moving on but still in a haze of confusion, chaos, and sadness.
I had often wondered what John would have thought of the song, both as a loving message to/for him, but also simply as a fantastically constructed pop track. Imagine my surprise when I first read the Onobox liner notes and finding out that he had actually heard and known the song after all! It makes it that much better and even more poignant.
That great track pulled me into the whole album, and I've been so fond of It's Alright (I See Rainbows) ever since. After searching for quite some time, I finally found the Ryko CD! I've had the LP for years now, but really happy to have this version to play now!
