Hello all, I’m Aaron. I was two years old when Mind Games was released. At some point in the 70s somebody bought me a copy of it, and it was the only John Lennon solo album I had until I was a teenager. To this day, it’s still my favorite, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reconnecting with it in the past six months.
I was looking forward to the remix and some of the previously unreleased material, but thought the 2-disc version would suffice. The day after the set was released, I had a five hour drive ahead of me, and I streamed the whole set from beginning to end. I was blown away. The Elements and Elemental mixes I didn’t think I would really need gave me so many insights to the album I thought I knew pretty well. When my 2-disc version arrived, I got sucked into the puzzle, trying to figure out the clues without the benefit of the boxed set.
So I broke down and bought the boxed set. I also bought a UV light, which my wife thought was an odd purchase for music listening. I dug into the contents of the box, learned all about the I Ching, numerology, and other stuff I’ve already forgotten.
I hit a wall on the puzzle, but I kept listening to the music. John was my #1 artist on Spotify, and the Escape To Nutopia idea looked intriguing. I enjoyed the book included in the boxed set, and figured it would suffice. Well, I started in on Escape To Nutopia, and guess what I bought? The Thames and Hudson book! I got three other books for Christmas, but I’m back in the world of Mind Games. I want to thank
@Sean and everyone one else that has worked on this Mind Games campaign. I’ve been immersed in it since July and I can’t believe how much more I appreciate the album that was already my favorite to begin with.
Oh, I also subscribed to Lumenate, which I’m enjoying!
