Welcome, it's very nice to have you hereView attachment 3325All we need is love!
What a fantastic read! Glad to have you here, you're definitely in the right place in NutopiaI'd love to share a little about my ongoing admiration of John and Yoko; I think this is the right crowd who might see some parts of themselves in my story...
I was born after the world lost John and, one day, fate decided to introduce John's music into my life. I was thirteen years old and it was the missing key which unlocked so much self-exploration, appreciation of music, admiration of J&Y's journeys and has provided a guidepost for my life as the decades have rolled by.
I love their humanity and John and Yoko's self-examination: What does it mean to be a human being? How does the plight of someone else effect my own life? How are we both different and alike? And what does that all this mean?
These were some of the thoughts that the younger version of myself pondered while I dove head-first into Double Fantasy, Mind Games, Walls and Bridges, and my favourite, Sometime in New York City.
I grew up in a small town in the South in the US and John and Yoko's activism spoke to me; those with a voice can use it for good.
And now at 43 years old, I'll often think back to that young kid and reflect on my decades-long fandom and smile.
Personal growth, looking at ourselves and facing parts of our lives that we don't like, trying to move beyond it and grow into a better person with more experience and empathy towards our neighbours; this is what I saw in John and Yoko all those years ago.
And with each new release and each amazing remix, it's an opportunity for us fans to relive some warm nostalgia to back when we first became fans and were listening to something new, for the first time, which now has become part of the soundtrack of our lives.
I've learned that time is the most important resource we have and we have to make the most of it. Life's a solitary journey made better with our loved ones.![]()
