🎸Favorite John Lennon Demo

I love I'm In Love, that was never recorded by John officially. I also love the If I Fell demos and Real Life that is no longer available on YouTube.
Yes! I forgot about Real Life, that's the problem with trying to pick just one. When a song combines elements of Real Love and I'm Stepping Out, it's truly unforgettable. And he sounds so sad and wistful singing it.

I love Real Life and Real Love and how they contrast. I think most people would think that John was trying to fool us by changing a sad, hopeless lyric to a hopeful and cheerful one but that's just how he was, we'd change his mind and his view of the world and the context he was living pretty frequently. That's why I love both so much!

I think my most favorites are I'm In Love from the early years, and My Life from the later years might be my all-time favorite song ever. Also really love Bad To Me and the early take of If I Fell.

For me, it's Grow Old With Me.
A beautiful love song and I regret John didn't record it in Double Fantasy.
The demo was recorded after the release of Double fantasy, John had planned to release it for Milk and honey, that was due in 1981, he wanted to make a nuptial march of "Grow old with me", and I'm sure it would have been a beauty, but I love it in its raw version with vocals, piano and drum machine.

Thanks for these precisions

My favorite demo gotta be the demo of Now and Then and this demo had such an impact on me that I started researching more demos. I swear, looking for demos (and listening to them) is a thing that inspires me a lot, they make me feel relaxed in a way I cannot explain. Now I have a playlist called "♤Lennon's lost tapes♤", it has 17 demos that I like the best:
-Help!
-Here we go again
-I promise
-Cathy's clown
-How
-Everyone had a hard year
-John Henry
-Mirror mirror on the wall
-Nobody loves you when you're down and out
-Now and then
-Solitude
-You send me
-Make love not war
-Free as a bird
-Memories
-Dear John
-Help me to help myself

In a take of real life I'm not sure about it but I think we can hear John sob or something.

Surprise, surprise (Sweet bird of paradox) was supposed to be called Willow tree as it is referred to May Pang. In her documentary about the lost weekend we have the ability to hear the demo.

There are also plenty of lost cds that are compilations of demos and outtakes that was apparently sold during the 1990's. There are at least thirty of it. Thirty cds that contains a twenty and more demos. That's a lot of lost media.

If I had nothing to do, I'd spend hours and hours looking for all of this and study everything.

Below: the series "The lost Lennon tapes", how was it created, the first cd and a part of it's tracklist.
