John Lennon for the Mad Day Out, July 28, 1968.
Carter was a great man. The first president to put solar panels on the roof of the White House. Unfortunately, America rejected him. Because America for some bizarre reason sees goodness as weakness.Tonight we watched a special on CNN, Jimmy Carter - Rock and Roll President.
He was elected in 1976, against great odds, with the support of musicians and the youth vote.
He campaigned to turn the country from the evil legacy of Richard Nixon, who used the FBI to try to deport John for his anti- Vietnam War activity.
There was a brief glimpse of John and Yoko in the audience at his inaugural ball.
Carter was proud that from that day forward, during four years as president,
'We never dropped a bomb. We never fired a bullet. We never went to war'.
WAR IS OVER! IF YOU WANT IT
