💡 Your favorite John facts!

I love the way he treated the fans who hung out to see him at EMI, Apple, Kenwood, or the Dakota. He took time to talk to them quite often. He gave them nicknames and formed a little relationship of sorts with a few of them. He was genuinely interested in what they did at a Beatlefest or what they thought of Beatlemania on Broadway. I know that the had his unkind moments with fans (there is a story of him sticking his head out of a window and yellow "f off" to some fans in his garden-- and the fans were elated that John Lennon spoke to them!) but overall he was kind to strangers.

I love his drawings. I like to think that in another life he could have been a renowned children's author. Writing silly poems and pairing them with his illustrations like "In His Own Write" and "A Spaniard in The Works". His drawings always vaguely reminded me of Shel Silverstein.
I can see the resemblance in their creative arts!

Creative in so many ways! Music, writing, artistically and even cooking/baking!! 🎸📝🖌🍞
The man had no choice but to be creative in some way! Thankfully he got to share it with the world and inspire all of us to also be creative!

I would have loved to see him illustrate a children’s book!! His style is perfect for that 🤍

The pictures he drew for Sean are a fine example of this and possibly the closest we have to it.
A full on children's book would have been something! I could have seen him even doing a whole series of 'em about various things and stories.
Maybe even one about sailing across the seas and pulling in all the various connections of the walrus, the octopus garden, seeing that yellow submarine, etc.. in a very silly and fun way, with a touch of "Lennon lore" sprinkled in.

My mind runs wild with all the things he could have done with this. Other things too, but then I get carried away and feel like I said too much and get shy. 😳😅

Another favorite fun fact was the natural humor, wit and silliness he had.
